There’s only about four months left in 2025 (we know, our jaws are on the floor, too) and there’s lots left on the agenda for TV shows and movies. You know what that means: plan those watch parties or head to movie theater ASAP to not miss out on these faves from 2025.
The Runarounds
Release date: September 1st
Where to watch: Prime Video
If you’re a fan of Outer Banks, you’ll definitely want to check out this new show. From the same creators of OBX, this series follows recent high school grads starting a band. Sounds like we’ll get a show full of new music and a heartwarming friend group (yes, please).
Wednesday Season Two, Part Two
Release date: September 3rd
Where to watch: Netflix
No spoilers, but part one had a huge cliffhanger that left us absolutely shocked. If you haven’t seen part one yet, go back and watch. We may not know what to expect for the second part, but we do know that the next half of the season will be full of twists and mysteries. (And Lady Gaga will be making an appearance too!)
Hamilton
Release date: September 5th
Where to watch: In theaters
Finally a theatrical release. For the tenth anniversary of the hit musical, it will be played on the big screen. Even if you already have the musical memorized to the bone, celebrate the anniversary with a rewatch (and maybe take someone who hasn’t seen the musical—they’ll absolutely fall in love).
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place Season Two
Release date: September 12th on Disney Channel and October 8th on Disney+
Where to watch: Disney Channel and Disney+
Bring out those wands! Get ready for another season full of shenanigans, nostalgia and all things magical. This show is perfect if you either watched the original Wizards of Waverly Place or have never seen it.
Dancing with the Stars Season 34
Release date: September 16th
Where to watch: Live on ABC and Disney+, released the next day on Hulu
Who doesn’t love watching ballroom dancing and being in awe of all the amaze choreography? The popular dance competition will return with its star-studded cast. The full cast hasn’t been announced yet, but so far Robert Irwin, Alix Earle, Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt are set to join.
The Summer I Turned Pretty Series Finale
Release date: September 17th
Where to watch: Prime Video
Let’s visit Cousins Beach one last time *sheds tears.* The third season has already left us invested, gasping, crying, blushing and our emotions *everywhere*. But the ultimate question still remains: Who will Belly choose? Jeremiah? Conrad? Herself? This finale will for sure be one to remember.
Wicked: For Good
Release date: November 21st
Where to watch: In theaters
We will all be “changed for good” when we watch the epic second part of Wicked. Expect to see the most gorgeous costumes, Elphaba and Glinda’s new journeys and of course, music that will either give us goosebumps or tears (TBH, probably both).
Zootopia 2
Release date: November 26th

The iconic duo of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back, and their partnership might be…in trouble? It has been almost 9 years since the first movie, so we’re ready to see what the duo will be up to next (hopefully solving crimes and being besties).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2
Release date: December 10th
Where to watch: Disney+
It’s almost time to head back to Camp Half-Blood, demigods! The highly anticipated new season is set to return with new quests, monsters and characters (so exciting).
Stranger Things Final Season
Release date: Volume 1 on November 26th, Volume 2 on December 25th and the Finale on New Year’s Eve
Where to watch: Netflix
One of the biggest TV shows that has become a pop culture staple is coming to an end. This finale is expected to be action-packed, thrilling and *emotional.* The final season will span from the end of November to the last day of 2025, a perfect watch to end the year. Keep in mind that each volume will drop at 5 PM PST worldwide, so the release date may vary depending on your time zone (a tip to avoid accidental spoilers on IG).
