One day I was at Starbucks with a group of friends and a few other classmates I wasn’t super close with. A guy walked into the store, so I whispered to my bestie how cute I thought he was. She nodded and immediately leaned over and repeated what I said to the rest of the table. One of the girls I didn’t really know smirked at me, casually went by him to go toss her Frappe cup in the trash and said, as loudly as possible, “My friend over there thinks you’re really cute.” I was mortified.
