Calling all the spooky Swifties! Halloween is just two weeks away, which means you’re probably Pinterest boards deep in costume inspo.
We’re here to make your outfit selection oh-so simple: With all the hype of The Life of a Showgirl, there’s no better time to dress up in a Taylor-approved ensemble. The easiest DIYs, right this way…
“You Belong With Me” music video outfit

The “You Belong With Me” music video showcases tons of memorable looks (brunette Taylor is forever a fave), but the iconic “Junior Jewels” tee is an easy and comfy option.
To start, you’ll need a plain, baggy white t-shirt. Draw your “Junior Jewels” logo in Sharpie, then add your besties’ names and decorate with colorful triangles. Beyond the shirt, you’ll need a pair of pajama pants (plaid is best, but any will do) and oversized glasses (these blue-light glasses are only $11!).
Want to go all out? Tuck a “You ok?” note in your pocket and whip it out for any photo opps.
The Red Eras Tour outfit
Iconic in the “22” music video, still iconic on the Eras Tour. For the gals who want a costume that feels chic (but still simple to make), this one’s for you.
Grab a plain white T-shirt (you can snag it at your local craft store) and iron-on letters (try these Embroidered Block Letters, $7, Hobby Lobby). With your parents’ permission, carefully press the letters onto your shirt with an iron to recreate one of these iconic phrases:
+ Not a lot going on at the moment
+ Who’s Taylor Swift anyway? Ew.
+ I bet you think about me
+ I knew you were trouble
Pair your tee with black shorts, Oxfords and a black fedora (and feel free to toss it to one of your adoring fans later on).
Lover album cover
OK, so you waited until the last minute to costume shop—and you’ve got T-minus 10 ’til your Halloween bash. Have no fear: This Lover-inspired look is practically foolproof.
All you need? Makeup, a pastel top and a cute pair of pants. Dab Vaseline in a heart shape around your eye, then use your ring finger to apply pink face glitter (or pink eyeshadow if you’re in a pinch). Toss on a candy-colored shirt and jeans, and you’re golden, girl.
(Psst: If you’ve got some temporary hair dye lying around—we heart Fun In by Sun In—that’ll give your look the perf Lover touch.)
The 2021 Grammys dress
One of Taylor’s most iconic looks is the wildflower dress she wore to the 2021 Grammys. Both elegant and unique, this costume is perfect for the girl who wants to have a niche Halloween costume this year.
For the base of this outfit, you’ll need a dress that you’re willing to sacrifice. (Pro tip: If you don’t have one you’re willing to give up, thrifting something cheap is an excellent option.) Then, head to the craft store to pick out an array of faux florals—the more colorful the better. Snip the stems off with scissors, then use a hot glue gun to attach the flowers to the dress. Get creative with the spacing, and don’t be afraid to layer.
Sweep your hair into an updo, slide into some heels and get ready to accept the award for Best Halloween Costume!
Showgirl
An ode to Tay’s latest album is timely *and* trendy. A Gatsby-inspired tassel dress (search ThredUp for thrifted frocks), boots and flashy accessories (think: paper fans, fake pearls, feather headbands) serve TLOAS in the best way. Bonus points if you can incorporate something orange!
