Let’s be real, if you weren’t watching yesterday’s Super Bowl for the touchdowns, you were definitely munching on your fave Ranch dip and tuning in to see the halftime show.
Every year, this unofficial American holiday is known for giving us some of the most spectacular performances in music. And Bad Bunny’s concert last night had us reminiscing on some of our fave performers from years past….
Rihanna (2023)

Remember when Rihanna brought girlpower energy to the field in 2023? Rocking a red jumpsuit and dancing on floating stages, she performed a medley of her hits including “Where Have You Been,” “Umbrella,” “Diamonds” and more. Her performances were so memorable that our FYPs flooded with fans recreating her choreography—”Rude Boy” being the most popular. Oh, and don’t forget the iconic Fenty Beauty cameo. As if this performance couldn’t get any more iconic, she also revealed she was pregnant with her second baby (so cute!).
Katy Perry (2015)

No one gave a more visually stunning performance than Katy Perry! From starting the show riding a giant glowing lion for “Roar” to a full-on beach scene for “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls,” Katy kept our eyes glued to the screen. And can we talk about her fits? Let’s just say we took fashion notes (esp. on the metallic silver gown she wore for “Firework”).
Shakira and Jennifer Lopez (2020)

There’s no more powerful Latina duo than Shakira and J.Lo! Their halftime performance celebrated their culture with belly dances and surprise appearances from Bad Bunny (this year’s halftime star!) and J Balvin. J.Lo stunned the stadium with her Versace cape, featuring the American flag on the outside and the Puerto Rican flag on the inside. BTW, these gals totally impressed us with some v. speedy costume changes.
Lady Gaga (2017)
We love seeing female popstars take over the stage, and Lady Gaga was absolutely show-stopping! One of our favorite moments was Gaga on the piano (we love it when she lets her vocals shine). Oh, and her flying into the stadium will always be iconic. We were pumped to see her return to the stage this year as a special guest in Bad Bunny’s show. She totally delivered with a salsa-style version of “Die With A Smile.” She even wore a gorgeous custom blue dress crafted by a Dominican-American designer.
