Swiftes, this is NOT a drill: Taylor announced her new album, The Life of A Showgirl early this morning.
Swifties have been suspecting this for months. Back in October, Taylor posted a photo holding her cat Meredith…in none other than Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium’s A12 section. The “A12” detail quickly lit up fan threads online.
Fast forward to March when Taylor praised Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s album “I Said I Love You First” on her story, she typed “oh my goddddddddddd”, with exactly 12 d’s. To most people, that’s just enthusiastic typing. To a Swiftie? It’s basically a coded message. And in a letter about the ownership of her masters, she stretched the word “thiiiiiiiiiiis” with 12 i’s. Super Swifts also noticed the date on that letter (4, 6 and 2) adds up to 12, and the new “TS” diamond logo on the letterhead features 12 segments.
Her fashion choices also fueled speculation: At February’s Grammys, Taylor’s earrings were set with exactly 12 red rubies, a subtle, but striking, number match.

And then the big one: A ountdown clock on her official website. With a sparkly orange backdrop with a countdown set to exactly 12:12 AM EST, the site (which crashed for several minutes) finally revealed pre-order info for The Life of A Showgirl. Orders will ship before October 13, but no release date yet.
We’re not screaming, you are. And, well, OK, we are, too. Welcome to the next era!
