Whether you just bought a new journal or already have one, sometimes it can be hard to figure out what to fill on those empty pages. DW, there are lot of creative ways to capture your thoughts, memories and make your journal totally *you.*
Write a letter
Write a letter to your future self (you can decide when in the future you can open your letter—a few days? months? years?). This can be a great way to see how much you have grown from the time you wrote the letter to the time you read it. To make it more personal, glue an envelope into your journal to place your letter in, and decorate as you wish.
Add your artwork
If you love drawing or painting, add your own artwork on those blank pages! The best part? This can be literally anything you want, so grab your pencils, pens and brushes and get creative. (Pro tip: We recommend scrolling Pinterest for inspo on what to draw if you’re feeling stuck.)
Make *lots* of lists
Seriously, there are so many types of lists you can write out: a bucket list, daily checklists, list of your favorite movies, shows music playlists (the list goes on—get it?). This can also be a tool to keep your ideas organized, or just to write out some of your recent faves.
Create a collage
The best thing about a collage is that it does not have to be neat or perfect. Print out pictures, take cutouts from old magazines, add stickers—make it your own. You can even make a themed collage that can recap your month, year, season and so much more.
Add memorabilia
Add things like concert tickets, movie tickets, thank you notes or receipts in your journal. These items are the perf way to reflect on your favorite solo memories or days with your BFFs.
Write down your favorite quotes and affirmations
Put down all your favorite book quotes, song lyrics or your daily affirmations. Write the words that you love and want to remember.
Document what you want to remember
If you are going on a trip, have a favorite recipe or are just having a great day, write it all down. Sometimes we take pictures to keep information, but writing it down can be a great way to hold on to memories too (and forever!).
