Dear Carol,
I really like having my room be in order. If my sister sits on my bed after I make it, I get mad, then she gets mad.
-I’m a perfectionist
Dear I’m A Perfectionist,
Sometimes I wish I were tidier, because my office sure wouldn’t pass a neatness test. Other times, I’m glad I’m not a perfectionist, because when you expect perfection, you are going to fall short. Maybe one reason why I’m good at languages is because I like to learn and don’t mind making mistakes. It’s summer, so go easy on yourself. Next time your sister walks into your room, strike up a conversation rather than focusing on the fresh creases in your bedcovers. And aim to be happy instead of perfect. Because, psst, there’s no such thing as perfect.
