Let us be glad! Let us be grateful—because it’s almost time for us to head back and enter the world of Oz one last time. The highly anticipated Wicked: For Good directed by Jon M. Chu will be hitting our screens in just a few short days.
If you were obsessed with Wicked Part One, then get ready to grab your tissues and fall in love with this iconic duo all over again. While the first movie was all about Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship and backstory, the sequel dives even deeper with emotional twists, epic songs and moments that’ll have you clutching your popcorn bucket. But before we catch the Emerald Express and head back to Emerald City, here’s everything you’re gonna want to know before you take your seat and dive in.
When’s the official release date?
Wicked: For Good officially hits theaters everywhere on November 21st, 2025. And yes—we’ve already cleared our weekend to watch it once…or, OK, fine, three times if we’re being honest. Grab your squad and start warming up those vocal chords because it’s time to let out your inner theater kid (quietly, ofc).
New cast?

Wicked: For Good will have the same cast as the first movie, with Ariana Grande (Glinda Upland), Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba Thropp), Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard) and Michelle Yeoh (Madam Morrible). We also can’t forget Ethan Slater as Boq, Marissa Bode as Nessarose Thropp and Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James as Pfannee and Shen Shen in the OG movie. It was recently announced that Colman Domingo will be joining the cast as the Cowardly Lion. And, what everyone’s been waiting for…the reveal of the iconic wearer of the red slippers (AKA, our Wizard of Oz icon Dorothy), will be played by Bethany Weaver.
What will it be about?
You’re definitely gonna want to grab your tissues for this movie, because you will quite literally be changed for good. Without going into spoiler territory, just like Act 2 of the stage musical, Wicked: For Good starts not long after Elphaba, now known as the Wicked Witch, leaves Emerald City and hides in the Ozian forest.
Glinda, who has rebranded as Glinda the Good, teams up with Madam Morrible and The Wizard. But, will Elphaba and Glinda be able to come together and rekindle their messy but unbreakable friendship? (just cue the ugly crying already). Of course, there’s plenty more to this thrill-ifying story—but we’re not here to give the whole movie away. You’re just going to have to watch the magic unfold in the theater.
What songs will be included in the soundtrack?
Wicked: For Good will ofc have our favorite songs from Act 2 of the original soundtrack, and it’ll feature two brand-new songs penned by none other than Stephen Schwartz, the genius behind the original Broadway musical. Fans can look forward to hearing “No Place Like Home” sung by Cynthia and “The Girl in the Bubble” sung by Ariana. Below is the full tracklist:
“Every Day More Wicked”
“Thank Goodness”
“No Place Like Home” (a new song!)
“The Wicked Witch of the East”
“Wonderful”
“I’m Not That Girl (Reprise)”
“As Long As You’re Mine”
“No Good Deed”
“March of the Witch Hunters”
“The Girl in the Bubble” (another new song!)
“For Good”
“Finale”
