Dear Carol,
I’ve been feeling very self-conscious about my body lately. I love swimming, but I feel uncomfortable in a swimsuit. I have a big chest, and I’m curvy which doesn’t help. My family is going to a waterpark soon, and I want to be able to have fun. What should I do?
– Self-Conscious
Dear Self-Conscious,
Almost everyone goes through this stage, especially when bodies are changing so fast. Looking back, I spent way too many hours/days/weeks/months/maybe even years worrying about how I was looking. Find a suit that fits your body, offers support and makes you smile (maybe it’s in a fun print or your favorite bright color). Take a deep breath and focus on having fun.
