The presents are unwrapped, the cookie tins are empty and…you’re filled with a little something we like to call PCD (that’s post-Christmas depression). After all the magic and cheer of the holiday season, it’s normal to feel a little blue once your fam’s Christmas festivities are over. But who says these merry ‘n’ bright vibes have to end just because your favorite month is coming to a close? Not us! Turns out you *can* keep that joyful feeling all year long—even after the holidays are long behind us. Here’s how…
Create a gratitude journal

The holidays are a time for thankfulness—but that’s something worth carrying into the rest of your year, too. Making your own gratitude journal is a great way to begin each day from a place of positivity. Every morning, think of at least three things that you’re grateful for and jot them in a journal. Whether it’s the sunshine streaming in your window, the smell of your dad’s coffee wafting up the stairs, your upcoming brunch plans with your bestie—it all counts.
Feeling more creative? You can even get creative and decorate the pages with stickers, washi tape, photos and doodles.
Starting your morning off with a positive and thankful perspective sets the tone for the rest of your day (and studies show it can really boost your mental health).
Romanticize your day-to-day life

The holiday szn has plenty of opportunities to add some ~sparkle~ to your day-to-day, whether it’s sipping a delish peppermint mocha, lighting your fave pine tree candle or treating yourself to a gorgeous New Year’s Eve dress.
Those mini moments of seasonal-inspired fun don’t have to end the minute the cal turns to January. Carry that spirit into 2026 by carving out time for creativity and self-care—and romanticizing all the things that make life so sweet.
Need some inspo? Make a fancy recipe (cranberry scones, anyone?), curate a super niche playlist (we’ve got you covered with ideas on our Spotify), spend a little extra time on your skincare routine and hang up a string of fairy lights in your bedroom. Anything that fills you with warm ‘n’ fuzzy vibes is fair game.
Give back and help others

Volunteering and gifting are two ways we give back during the holiday season, but there are plenty of opps to get involved all year. Each week, make it a goal to do one small act of kindness, like compliments or notes of gratitude. An “I love your outfit” or “I’m so happy to have you as a friend” can make a huge difference in someone’s day.
If you’re looking to donate or lend a hand to others in your community, research local charities or donation drives in your town, then make a day out of it with your friends and fam. (The clothes you never wear in your closet? Donate them! Old winter clothes or coats? They would be great for someone in need.) You can even help out furry friends in shelters who are looking for their fur-ever family by donating pet food, water bowls or volunteering your time at a shelter. And, if you’ve ever felt inspired to start your own charity initiative (like this GL girl did), go for it, girl!
After all, giving back is one of the easiest ways to feel merry all year long.
