Step into your own little rom-com at a local cafe. This totally iconic scene of the “fake dating” phase of Lara Jean and Peter’s relationship was one of the best moments of the book. Order Shirley Temples, play a nostalgic game while waiting for your food (Tic-Tac-Toe on a napkin is always surprisingly fun) and steal bites of each other’s burgers and fries (or strawberry pancakes if you’re brunchin’ it). Split a chocolate milkshake on the way out to put the cherry on top of your date.
The Drive-In Movie
Old-school and oh-so-romantic, pulling up to a drive-in movie theater is the best date for the ultimate throwback vibes. Take a scenic drive beforehand with a playlist full of your favorite songs, grab your fave snacks and cozy blankets (you can’t go wrong with caramel popcorn, Cookie Dough Bites or Slurpees) and enjoy the night under the stars.
The Carnival Night
Peter Kavinsky energy = playful and low-pressure. Hit up the next fair or festival in your town and make the rounds riding the Ferris wheel (obvi), sharing cotton candy and beating bae at ring toss. Take a disposable camera or Polaroid along for peak rom-com vibes (and to capture the sweet mems).
The Letters
Channel your inner Lara Jean and write some romantic handwritten letters. Not only is it way more personal and permanent than a text message, but letters are the perfect way to express all the feels. Not much of a writer? Your messages don’t have to be super lengthy, either—you can pop a short “Can’t wait to see you after school!” on a piece of paper and drop it in their locker. (Plus, they make the perfect swoon-worthy mementos.)
