We\u2019re talking Anna and Kristoff, Beauty and the Beast, Jasmine and Aladdin\u2014YK the type. This Valentine\u2019s Day, let\u2019s take a step back and look at what all our old faves can teach us about love. Hint: It\u2019s a lot!<\/p>\n

Jasmine and Aladdin
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n

Even though Jasmine\u2019s dad was determined to marry her off to royalty, she still fell head-over-heels for street rat Aladdin. Hoping to prove he was \u201cworthy,\u201d Aladdin disguised himself as a prince to win over her father. But when Jasmine discovered the truth, it totally shook her trust and made her question everything she thought she knew about him.<\/p>\n

The love lesson: <\/strong>Changing who you are to impress someone never works. The truth always comes out\u2014and it\u2019s so exhausting to keep up a charade. So be your real, imperfect self. The right person will like *that* verison of you best.<\/p>\n

Beauty and the Beast
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n

Who doesn\u2019t love a good Grumpy x Sunshine romance? Even though the Beast was angry and gruff on the outside (not to mention\u2026um, a beast), Belle was able to look past that and bring out the best in him. Despite their differences, they slowly fell in love.<\/p>\n

The love lesson:<\/strong> Have you been discounting someone because of how they look or act on the outside? Maybe they\u2019re a serious extrovert while you\u2019re super shy, or they don\u2019t look exactly like your dream guy (dark hair, green eyes, six foot, soccer star, etc.). But you never know who could turn out to be a prince if you give them a chance (perhaps your quiet-but-sweet locker neighbor or that nerdy-but-cute math whiz in your homeroom).<\/p>\n

Shang and Mulan
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"Two<\/p>\n

When Mulan joined the army, she wasn\u2019t trying to find love. She didn\u2019t even think there was anyone out there for her\u2013all she wanted was to protect her father (and maybe find out who she was along the way). But once she revealed her true identity and (casually) saved all of China, she and Shang just clicked.<\/p>\n

The love lesson:<\/strong> If you haven\u2019t found the one yet? Don\u2019t sweat it! Mulan is proof that it will all work out. Focus on doing things you\u2019re interested in\u2014and someone who shares your passions may eventually show up. Who knows? You might find your Shang at the audition for the spring musical.<\/p>\n

Anna and Kristoff
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n

When Anna first met Kristoff, she had her heart set on Hans (who, BTW, she\u2019d met the day before). But throughout their adventures\u2014and in spite of their wildly different backgrounds\u2014they fell in love. Even though their romance was completely unexpected, they ended up being totally perfect for each other.<\/p>\n

The love lesson:<\/strong> Sure, Hans seemed perfect at first, but he turned out to be\u2026evil. If Anna had gotten to know him a little better, she would’ve noticed before it was too late. And, if your friends are warning you that something\u2019s fishy (ahem, Elsa?), listen to them. They could be onto something.<\/p>\n

Cinderella and Prince Charming
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n

Everyone else liked the prince because of his wealth and power. But our girl Cindy? She didn\u2019t even know the guy she was dancing with was a prince\u2014but she liked him anyway. And when the Prince found out that Cinderella was just a normal girl, he didn\u2019t bat an eye. Both of them loved each other for who they truly were, and we can *def* appreciate that.<\/p>\n

The love lesson: <\/strong>Don\u2019t be blinded by a potential bae\u2019s good looks or amaze soccer skills. Take the time to get to know them and find out who they really are underneath. After all, that’s what really matters.<\/p>\n
