Did I have \u201cTaylor Swift gives her most revealing interview in years on a boyfriend\u2019s sports\/sourdough podcast\u201d on my late summer 2025 bingo card? No, no I did not. Like many things this week, I was not prepared and yet here we are.

Less than 48 hours after teasing her new album, Tay revealed the cover of The Life of a<\/em> Showgirl<\/em> as well as shared its release date (Oct 3 aka Mean Girls day which is its own kind of poetry) and revealed the fact title track will feature a collab with her tourmate Sabrina Carpenter (Taybrina!).<\/p>\n

The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>\u00a0will also be available to order in the \u201cSweat and Vanilla Perfume\u201d edition, the \u201cIt\u2019s Frightening\u201d edition, the \u201cIt\u2019s Rapturous\u201d edition and the \u201cIt\u2019s Beautiful\u201d edition. Each version features different artwork and photo cards as well as a jewelry box with a different collectible charm bracelet so start saving now.<\/p>\n

On why orange:<\/strong> It\u2019s just because she likes it, duh. \u201cIt feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt,\u201d she said about this new era.<\/p>\n

On her green flag with Travis: <\/strong>*grabs pen\/takes notes* A huge green flag is that Travis has had the same friends since he was probably four years old, and he\u2019s incredibly good at maintaining friendships and is so loyal and his friends are equally loyal and the funniest, most hilarious group of people.\u201d<\/p>\n

On numerology: <\/strong>Travis pointed out that 87 (his Kansas City Chiefs jersey numbe) is his number and 13 is Swift\u2019s. Add em up and you get 100. Just leaving this here.<\/p>\n

On current obsessions: <\/strong>\u201cI love to paint, I love to cook. Right now, we\u2019re very deep in a sourdough obsession that has taken over my life. She\u2019s currently mastering \u201cfunfetti sourdough\u201d for her girls at the moment and we need the recipe<\/em> (which, OK, sounds awful and amazing at the same time).<\/p>\n

On \u201cRed\u201d:<\/strong> \u201cWhen it came time to doing Taylor\u2019s Version and rerecording the album I went back in, found the verses, restructured the song to the way that it pretty much was when I had originally written it. That song is one of my favorite things I\u2019ve ever done.\u201d Same, girl, same.<\/p>\n

On learning she got her masters back: <\/strong>\u201cI get a call from my mom and she\u2019s like, \u2018You got your music.\u2019 It\u2019s literally been so long since this happened, and it\u2019s every time I talk about it\u2026.I just like very dramatically hit the floor for real. Honestly, just started like bawling my eyes out, and I\u2019m just like weeping.\u201d And now I\u2019m crying.<\/p>\n

On being a non-sporty sports fan:<\/strong> \u201cI grew up in Pennsylvania. I always heard my dad yelling at the screen, watching Eagles games. That was always the sports sounds I heard in my house. However, I was up on my room playing guitar, learning instruments, playing piano. I was focused on different things. I was like so laser-focused on music, and that\u2019s how I was in school.\u201d So our girl is sticking in the stands: She\u2019s \u201cnot an athlete\u201d and \u201cnever will be.\u201d<\/p>\n

On saving your sanity: <\/strong>\u201cIf your algorithm is giving you either criticism of yourself or adulation or praise, you\u2019re creating an ecosystem in which you\u2019re the centerpiece of the table. And I just don\u2019t think that\u2019s healthy. Like that\u2019s not the way I want to move through the world. So I do detach from the internet in a huge way. I have had my comments disabled on Instagram for like 10 years now? And I don\u2019t miss it.\u201d<\/p>\n

On why spill all this on \u201cNew Heights\u201d: <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>Hopefully people never thought that we\u2019d go on this podcast and announce an album. I was hoping that that\u2019s something that the fans would be like \u2018That\u2019s from left field.\u2019\u201d Jason joked in response. \u201cWow she went on with those two idiots to release this?\u201d I mean, maybe it crossed our minds\u2026<\/p>\n
